Beard Transplant Using FUE : Grafts Needed, Recovery & Results
2 months ago
I’m planning for a beard transplant and wanted some clarity before going ahead. Based on my condition, how many grafts would I approximately need? Also, which technique is usually used, FUE or DHI, and is there any major difference between them? I’m a bit concerned about scars and recovery as well. Will there be any visible marks after the procedure, and what kind of precautions or diet do I need to follow post-treatment? Also, how successful is this procedure generally?

For a beard transplant, the number of grafts depends on your current beard density and the coverage you’re aiming for, but in most cases, it can be around 3000–4000 grafts for a fuller look. The commonly used technique is FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), which is a safe and widely practiced method. While DHI is another option, in practical terms, there isn’t a significant difference in results when performed by an experienced team.
One of the biggest advantages of this procedure is that it does not leave visible scars. The extraction and implantation are done using very fine instruments, so once healing is complete, the marks are almost unnoticeable.
After the procedure, you’ll need to take some basic precautions, especially in the first week. This includes following a light or semi-solid diet, avoiding excessive movement, and taking proper care of the treated area. Most people recover smoothly with minimal discomfort.
As for results, beard transplants generally have a very high success rate when done correctly, and with proper aftercare, you can expect natural-looking, long-lasting growth over time.
