Bilateral Mild Hydrocele: Pain Relief Options and When Surgery Is Needed

I have been diagnosed with bilateral mild hydrocele and feel discomfort. I tried homeopathic medicine for hydrocele and several home remedies to shrink the hydrocele and reduce the swelling. Are there safe hydrocele pain tablets for relief? If these don’t work, should I consider hydrocele surgery?

As your doctor, I understand your concern about a bilateral mild hydrocele. In most cases, mild hydroceles don’t require immediate intervention unless symptoms worsen. For discomfort, safe options like paracetamol or ibuprofen can provide relief, as long as you don’t have stomach, kidney, or liver issues. These medicines won’t shrink the hydrocele, but can ease pain and swelling.

Also, several home remedies and homeopathy may give temporary comfort, but usually don’t change the underlying fluid collection. Also, surgery is only considered if hydroceles become large, painful, or interfere with daily life. For now, regular monitoring and symptom control are the best approach.
