Blocked Fallopian Tubes or Ovarian Cyst : Tests & Diagnosis

I want to understand what kind of treatment I may need for my condition. I was told that the issue could be due to blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts, or uterus-related problems such as heavy bleeding or pain. I would like to know which diagnostic scan is required, ultrasound or MRI, and what the approximate cost of these tests would be.

For gynecological concerns such as fallopian tube blockage, ovarian cysts, or uterus-related issues (heavy bleeding, pain, or fibroids), imaging tests are necessary before deciding on treatment.

The most common first test is a pelvic or abdominal ultrasound, which helps detect cysts, fibroids, swelling, or structural abnormalities. An ultrasound usually costs between ₹500 to ₹1,500, and in most centers it is typically under ₹1,000.

An MRI scan provides more detailed imaging and may be advised if the ultrasound findings are unclear or if deeper evaluation is required. MRI costs generally range between ₹7,000 to ₹15,000, depending on the city and number of scan sequences required.

In most cases, doctors recommend starting with an ultrasound. An MRI might or might not be required based on those findings. Once you obtain the report, you can share it for review, and a consultation can be arranged to guide you in the next step of treatment.
