Yes, an ongoing pregnancy is possible, but a positive pregnancy test 4 weeks after a medical abortion does not necessarily mean that you are still pregnant. Pregnancy hormone (hCG) can remain in the body for several weeks after an abortion and may keep a home test positive even when the abortion was successful.
Because your test is still positive 4 weeks later, you should arrange a follow-up with a gynecologist. An ultrasound and/or quantitative β-hCG blood test can help determine whether the pregnancy has ended completely, whether some pregnancy tissue remains, or whether the pregnancy is continuing. Do not take another dose of Misofem on your own. Seek urgent care if you develop severe abdominal pain, very heavy bleeding, fever, foul smelling discharge, dizziness, or fainting.
