Can Yoga Help Manage Spermatic Cord Hydrocele or Hydrocele Cysts Naturally?

I have been experiencing a painless discomfort and swelling or heaviness in the scrotum. I was advised to do a hydrocele medical test and may have a spermatic cord hydrocele. Can yoga for hydrocele help reduce swelling naturally, or is it only supportive? Can it also be a hydrocele cyst?

I understand your concern. Painless swelling or heaviness in the scrotum can be due to several conditions, including a hydrocele (fluid around the testicle) or a spermatocele (a cyst in the epididymis). A spermatic cord hydrocele is fluid along the spermatic cord and is usually benign.

Yoga or other exercises cannot shrink the hydrocele itself. These practices are only supportive, helping with comfort, circulation, and reducing tension or heaviness. They may improve how you feel, but they do not resolve the fluid collection.

True hydroceles or cysts are diagnosed via ultrasound or physical examination, which is essential before deciding on any treatment plan. While observation is possible if it’s small and painless, you may require surgery (hydrocelectomy) if the swelling causes discomfort, heaviness, or keeps increasing.
