Difference Between Hydrocele and Varicocele?Hydrocele
9 months ago
I have moderate hydrocele and want to understand how is it different from varicocele. Can hydrocele be treated without surgery, or is there a home remedy to shrink hydrocele? How should I address the pain? Also can i check hydrocele at home without going to a doctor?

As your doctor, I can explain this clearly. A hydrocele is fluid around the testicle, usually causing painless swelling or heaviness, while a varicocele is enlarged veins in the scrotum, often described as a “bag of worms,” and may cause a dull ache or fertility issues.
Hydrocele cannot be permanently treated with home remedies or medications. No tablet or natural remedy will shrink it. However, you can manage the pain and discomfort with paracetamol or NSAIDs, and wearing supportive underwear.
Also, you cannot reliably diagnose or monitor a hydrocele at home. A proper physical exam and ultrasound are essential to confirm the condition and rule out other causes like varicocele or testicular tumors.
