I am 32 years old and have one child. I have a fibroid in my uterus and had bleeding issues in 2021. I am taking prescribed medication once a week. I want to understand whether my fibroid size is normal, whether I need surgery, and if removing it will affect my body or ability to have children. What are the options if the fibroid causes pain or heavy bleeding?

Your fibroid is being monitored, and since it’s not causing severe problems currently, surgery is not immediately required. 
Medication can help manage symptoms, but if you experience heavy bleeding, severe pain, or other complications, surgical removal may be considered.
 Fibroid removal does not always require removing the uterus and can be done while preserving fertility. Decisions about surgery are individualized based on your symptoms, fibroid size, and reproductive plans. Regular follow-ups with ultrasound or MRI are important to track any changes.
