Recovery after gynecomastia surgery usually happens in stages. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine within 3 to 5 days, still there is some mild swelling, tightness around the chest. Which is common during the first couple of weeks.

By around 3 to 4 weeks, most of the swelling goes away, and the chest begins to take on a more natural shape. Complete healing takes about 6 to 8 weeks.

As for sensation, it’s normal to experience temporary numbness or reduced feeling in the chest area right after surgery. In most cases, sensation gradually returns over 2 to 3 months, though in a few patients, it can take slightly longer.
