No. Blood clots and spotting during the first month of pregnancy are not considered normal and should be evaluated by a gynecologist. While some light spotting can occur in early pregnancy, passing clots may indicate a threatened miscarriage or another condition that requires medical assessment.
Seek medical care promptly. Your doctor may recommend an ultrasound and Beta hCG blood test to determine the cause and assess the pregnancy. If you have heavy bleeding, severe abdominal pain, dizziness, or fainting, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
