Is watermelon safe for diabetics, even though it tastes so sweet?
I love eating watermelon, especially during summers, but since being diagnosed with diabetes, I’ve been hesitant. It tastes very sweet, so I’m worried it might increase my blood sugar quickly. Should diabetics avoid watermelon completely?

Watermelon can be consumed by diabetics, but in small portions. It has a high glycemic index but also a high water content, which means its overall impact depends on the quantity consumed.
Eating a small bowl occasionally, preferably along with other foods, is generally safe. Avoid large servings to prevent sudden spikes in blood sugar.
