IVF / IUI Consultation : Work Stress, Fertility & Treatment Options
1 month ago
I have been trying to conceive and have been married for around two years. I don’t have any major health issues like diabetes or blood pressure. I work in a highly demanding job with a lot of stress. Earlier, I had an ovarian cyst that was surgically removed from one side. Based on my situation, what are my chances of conceiving, and would treatments like IUI or IVF be suitable for me?

Given your history and current health status, conception is definitely possible, but it depends on a few important factors such as ovarian reserve, egg quality, and sperm parameters of your partner. Since you have a history of an ovarian cyst surgery on one side, it is still possible to conceive naturally if the other ovary and tubes are functioning well.
Stress and lifestyle can also have an indirect impact, so maintaining a balanced routine is helpful. Treatments like IUI can be considered if basic fertility parameters are within acceptable range, especially if sperm motility is adequate. IVF may be recommended if there are additional factors affecting fertility or if IUI is not successful.
The first step would be to undergo a proper fertility evaluation, including tests like AMH for ovarian reserve and a semen analysis for your partner. Based on these reports, your doctor can guide you toward the most appropriate treatment plan, whether it is natural conception, IUI, or IVF.
