Lipoma in Bodybuilding : Removal Options, Scarring, and Treatment Explained
2 months ago
I am into bodybuilding and have small lipomas near my deltoid and triceps, which affect muscle definition. They are not painful and are not increasing much in size. Is it necessary to remove them, and which method is better with minimal scarring?

Lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) fatty growth that usually develops due to genetic reasons and is generally not harmful. If it is not causing pain and is only a cosmetic concern, removal is completely optional and depends on your preference.
The only definitive treatment is surgical removal. Small lipomas with well-defined borders can be completely removed through a small incision, which minimizes the chances of recurrence, though it may leave a slight scar.
On the other hand, if you prefer a very minimal scar, liposuction can be considered. This involves removing fat through a tiny opening, but it may not guarantee complete removal of the lipoma, and there is a slightly higher chance of recurrence.
So, the choice depends on your priority—whether you want minimal scarring or complete removal. Based on that, the most suitable treatment option can be selected after consulting an experienced doctor.
