Mild swelling around the wound site after lipoma removal surgery is usually common and can happen as part of the normal healing process. Some patients may also notice slight redness, tightness, or discomfort for a few days after the procedure. This swelling generally improves gradually with proper wound care, rest, and medicines prescribed by the doctor.
However, if the swelling becomes large, painful, warm to touch, starts discharging pus, or is associated with fever, it could indicate infection, fluid collection, or delayed healing. We suggest following your surgeon’s wound care instructions carefully and attending follow-up visits regularly. If the swelling is increasing instead of improving, consult your doctor promptly for proper evaluation and treatment.
Some swelling is normal post surgery. Usually resolves on it’s own in 2-3 weeks time
Don’t worry might be seroma collection
Keep tight dressing and use Tab.Chymerol forte
Wait for 2 days
If swelling not increasing in mean time
The swelling in the thigh might be a hematoma which is a collection of blood at the site of surgery. This will resolve. But if it is very painful please visit your surgeon. It can be removed by a syringe and needle in OPD and your problem will be resolved.
Swelling at wound site is not common and could be in most instances due to a hematoma or a blood clot immediately after surgery..a delayed swelling at the same site could be a recurrence or a new lipoma ..
As you have been recently operated, there may be bleeding inside due to strenuous activity, you should consult your surgeon to seek advise at the earliest
