What is the soft lump behind the ear and can it be removed safely?

I have a soft, round lump just behind my ear which becomes clearly visible when I touch or pull the skin. It doesn’t hurt much, but I can feel it when I press on it and it sometimes makes me uncomfortable. I’m not sure if it has grown over time, but it looks quite noticeable now. Could this be a lipoma or a cyst? And if it needs treatment, can it be removed safely from this area without leaving a visible scar or affecting the nearby nerves?

A soft, round, painless lump behind the ear could be a lipoma (a benign fatty tissue growth) or a sebaceous cyst, both of which are generally harmless.

A doctor can confirm the diagnosis through physical examination or imaging if needed. If removal is desired, both conditions can typically be treated with minor surgical procedures, and an experienced surgeon will take care to minimize scarring and avoid affecting nearby nerves.

It is advisable to consult a specialist for a proper evaluation and personalized treatment plan.
