Repeated MTP use effects on fertility and future pregnancy outcomes ?

Can repeated use of abortion pills affect future fertility? I had an MTP last year, and now I might need it again. Will this reduce my chances of becoming pregnant later or cause complications in future pregnancies?

Using abortion pills once or even more than once does not directly affect your ability to get pregnant in the future, as long as the process is complete and there are no complications like infection or scarring. What matters most is that the pills are taken correctly under medical guidance and followed up with an ultrasound. Repeated use without proper care can increase the risk of incomplete abortion or infection, which in rare cases may affect fertility. If you need an abortion again, it is safer to do it through a doctor so that your future pregnancy chances are fully protected.

I took the MTP tablet last time in April, but it did not clear properly. I had bleeding/water discharge, so I had to go to the hospital and get a D&C done. Now I am pregnant again after 3 months, so will it be safe for me to take the MTP tablet again or not?

Having a previous medical abortion that required a D&C does not automatically mean you cannot have another medical abortion. However, because your previous abortion was incomplete, you should consult a qualified gynecologist before taking an MTP kit again. Your doctor may recommend an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy location and gestational age and determine the safest option for you.

Please do not take the MTP kit without medical guidance, especially given your previous experience. Seek urgent medical care if you develop severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, dizziness, fainting, or fever.
