IUI at 36 does age affect the chances of success?

I am 36, and my doctor recommended IUI because of mild male infertility. I worry that my age and my wife’s age might lower our chances. Can IUI still work effectively for older couples?

Age is an important factor, especially for women, because egg quality and quantity decline naturally over time. At 36, IUI can still work, but success rates are slightly lower compared to younger couples. Doctors may suggest combining IUI with ovulation stimulation or closely monitoring cycles to maximize chances. Lifestyle factors, overall health, and timing play a key role. While results may take longer, many couples in their mid-30s achieve pregnancy with IUI before moving to IVF if needed.
