Based on your height and weight, your BMI is within an acceptable range, which makes you a suitable candidate for liposuction. This procedure is ideal for individuals who are close to their ideal weight but have stubborn fat deposits, especially around the abdomen. However, the bulge near your navel may indicate an umbilical hernia, which needs proper evaluation before proceeding.

It is important to first confirm the presence of a hernia through an ultrasound. If a hernia is detected, it should be treated before undergoing liposuction, as performing liposuction in the presence of a hernia can lead to complications.

Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure where fat just beneath the skin is removed through small incisions (around 0.5 cm). The surgery usually takes about 2–3 hours, and you may require a 24-hour hospital stay. Patients are generally able to walk from the next day, although mild discomfort and soreness in the abdominal area can last for 1–2 weeks.

You will also need to wear a compression garment for a few weeks to support healing and improve results. Overall, if no hernia is present, liposuction can provide good contouring results in your case. However, addressing the hernia first is essential for safe and effective treatment.
