How can we actually prevent malaria at home, especially during monsoon?
Every year during the rainy season, I get really worried about mosquito-related illnesses, especially malaria. Despite using mosquito coils and sprays, I still notice mosquitoes around the house. I have elderly parents and a small child at home, so I want to make sure we’re doing everything possible to prevent malaria. What are the most effective steps we can take at home to stay safe?

Preventing malaria mainly focuses on avoiding mosquito bites and stopping mosquito breeding. You should ensure there is no stagnant water around your home, such as in coolers, flower pots, or open containers. Use mosquito nets, especially while sleeping, and apply mosquito repellents on exposed skin.
Installing window screens, wearing full-sleeved clothing in the evening, and using indoor sprays can also help. Regular cleaning of surroundings and proper drainage are key steps in reducing mosquito breeding.
