What happens after completing 6 months of TB treatment?
A close family member is currently undergoing TB treatment, and the doctor mentioned that the course will last around 6 months. We’re all hoping for a full recovery, but I’m curious what happens after the treatment is completed. Does the infection completely go away, or is there a chance it can come back?

After completing the standard 6-month TB treatment, most patients are considered cured if they have taken their medications regularly and tests show no active infection.
Symptoms usually improve significantly, and the infection is cleared from the body. However, follow-up check-ups may be advised to ensure there is no relapse.
Maintaining good immunity, nutrition, and avoiding missed doses during treatment helps reduce the risk of recurrence.
