Bad-Smelling Ear Discharge Along With Reduced Hearing
1 week ago
I have had dischharge from my ear for many days along with a bad smell and now reduced hearing. Sometimes there’s mild pain too. Can untrated ear discharge permanently affect hearing

Persistent ear discharge usually indicates ongoing infection inside the ear canal or middle ear. When infection continues untreated for long periods, it may gradually affect hearing and occasionally damage nearby structures inside the ear.
Patients often ignore discharge when pain is mild, but reduced hearing and foul smell should not be overlooked. Early examination and proper treatment help prevent complications and improve the chances of complete recovery.
