Adenoidectomy in Children: Does Immunity Drop?

My 4-year-old son is very weak and often catches colds. The ENT recommended adenoidectomy, but I am scared that removing adenoids will reduce his immunity. Do children fall sick more often after this surgery?

This is a common worry, but removing adenoids does not weaken a child’s immunity. The immune system has many other organs that continue to protect the body. In fact, most children fall sick less often after surgery because their blocked nose and frequent infections improve.
