Septoplasty: Will My Nose Shape Change?Septoplasty
3 months ago
I am very scared about whether septoplasty will change the external shape of my nose. I have read mixed opinions online, and I don’t want my face to look different after surgery. Can someone share if this surgery affects the appearance of the nose, or is it only an internal correction?

Septoplasty is performed inside the nose and focuses only on correcting the position of the nasal septum, which is the internal wall dividing the nostrils. It does not usually change the external shape of the nose. The incisions are made inside, so there are no visible scars. If your ENT is performing a simple septoplasty, your face and nose shape will remain exactly the same, with the main difference being improved breathing. In some cases, if there are cosmetic concerns along with functional issues, doctors may combine septoplasty with rhinoplasty, which can change the outer shape. But if you are only undergoing septoplasty, you can be reassured that the surgery is purely functional and will not alter your facial appearance.
