Can squint return after strabismus surgery in children?Squint Surgery
1 month ago
My 10-year-old had surgery for strabismus six months ago, but the squint seems to have returned slightly. Is this normal, or does it mean the surgery failed? What are the chances of needing a second surgery?

It’s not uncommon for a mild misalignment to reappear after squint surgery, especially in children who are still growing. This doesn’t necessarily mean the surgery failed — it may simply be that the eyes need further fine-tuning. Some children require a second surgery to achieve long-lasting results, but many remain stable with just the first procedure. Regular follow-ups help your doctor decide if additional treatment is needed.
