I’ve noticed double vision in one eye recently, along with misalignment. The doctor suggested strabismus surgery. How quickly can vision improve after surgery, and will the double vision go away completely?

Double vision can occur because the eyes are not working together properly. After surgery, many patients notice improvement within days as the brain starts adapting to the new alignment. For some, it may take weeks or even months for the double vision to fully resolve. In rare cases, extra therapy or prisms in glasses may still be needed. Overall, surgery greatly improves comfort and alignment, making daily tasks easier.
