I am worried about the recovery process after squint surgery. How long does swelling, redness, or discomfort last? Can children go back to school or adults return to work quickly?

After squint surgery, the eyes may look red and feel sore for about one to two weeks. Most of the discomfort settles with simple pain relief and eye drops. Children can usually return to school in a week, while adults can go back to work in a similar timeframe, depending on their job. Full healing takes a few weeks, but most people resume normal routines quickly without long downtime.
