A rapidly growing, red, painful, and swollen cyst on the neck may indicate an infected or inflamed sebaceous cyst, which can sometimes develop into an abscess requiring urgent medical attention.
Given the severity of your symptoms including severe pain, swelling, throbbing, and difficulty lying down . you should seek immediate medical care onboard the cruise ship’s medical facility as soon as possible.
Do not attempt to squeeze or drain the cyst yourself, as this can worsen the infection. A medical professional will assess whether drainage, antibiotics, or other treatment is needed.
Hello.
This seems like a sebaceous cyst that has got infected.
Antibiotics will have to be started
And considering the pain you are describing probably needs a surgery called Incision and drainage where the pus will have to be drained to get relief.
