Can doctors predict if a tumor will spread and can treatment prevent it?

Doctor found a tumor in my relatives body but said there is no spread at present. We are worried about what will happen later. Can doctors predict whether it will spread, and can treatment stop it from spreading?

Whether a tumor will spread depends on several factors including its type, grade, size, and location, which doctors assess through biopsies, imaging, and other tests. While it is not always possible to predict with certainty, early-stage tumors that have not spread yet often have better treatment outcomes.
Treatment options such as surgery, radiation, or other therapies can significantly reduce the risk of spread. It is best to consult an oncologist who can provide a detailed prognosis and personalized treatment plan based on the specific tumor type.
