I have an irregular periods, acne, sudden weight gain and excessive hair growth recently, could be these actually be signs of PCOS/PCOD?

The combination you’re describing (irregular periods, acne, sudden weight gain, and increased hair growth) is quite suggestive of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).
It’s a hormonal condition we commonly see, especially in young women, and it can present gradually, so people often dismiss early signs or assume it’s just “normal changes.” The symptoms you mentioned happen because of hormonal imbalance, particularly higher androgen levels affecting skin, hair, and menstrual cycles.
That said, PCOS is not diagnosed just on symptoms alone — we confirm it with a combination of clinical evaluation, hormone tests, and sometimes ultrasound. The important part is that it’s a manageable condition, not something to panic about, but it does need proper medical attention early to prevent long-term issues like worsening cycles or metabolic changes.
If these symptoms are becoming more noticeable, a gynecology consultation would be a good next step for proper diagnosis and guidance
