Is itching and irritation in vulva a fungal or bacterial infection?
I have been having itches, irritation and slight pain in my vulva for two weeks and I used like warm water, coconut oil and v wash. I think it is due to wearing tight, non breathable panties, and heat in my body. it is healing but not completely gone. I took a photo of my vulva and saw that there are no discharge, my skin on the vulva looks normal. I wanna know if it is just due to what I said, or it is a bacterial or a fungal infection. my sister in law working at a pharmacy gave me a clotrimazole vaginal gel from candid v gel and I wanna know if I can use this on my vulva. i don't feel comfortable going to see a doctor for this and I don't feel comfortable using unknown medicines. I wanna know if the lukewarm water and coconut oil are enough.

Based on your symptoms, the itching, irritation, and mild pain could be due to friction, sweating, or wearing tight, non breathable underwear. Since there is no abnormal discharge and the vulvar skin appears normal, a serious infection is less likely, although it cannot be ruled out without an examination. The fact that the symptoms are gradually improving is a positive sign.
For now, wear loose cotton underwear, keep the area clean and dry, and avoid products that may cause irritation. It is best not to use clotrimazole gel unless a fungal infection is suspected or advised by a doctor. If the symptoms do not completely resolve, worsen, or you develop discharge, redness, swelling, or burning while urinating, consult a gynecologist for a proper evaluation.
