Persistent Nasal Blockage After Surgery – Is DNS Coming Back or Something Else
1 month ago
I had nose surgery around 2 years ago for breathing difficulty, and I felt better for some time. But now I’m again facing blockage, especially in my right nostril, along with headaches by the end of the day. A doctor told me it might be DNS again, but I’m confused if it can actually come back after surgery. The problem gets worse during winters. What could be the reason for my symptoms, and what should I do next?

If a deviated nasal septum (DNS) has been properly corrected once, it usually does not grow back again.
However, your symptoms can still occur due to other reasons like sinus infection, nasal polyps, allergies, or turbinate enlargement, which can recur over time.
That’s why it’s important to get a fresh CT scan of the nose to understand the current issue clearly. Based on the scan, the doctor can decide whether medicines (like sprays or steroids) will help or if any further procedure is needed. Avoid taking treatment blindly—proper diagnosis is key to getting a long-term solution.
