PRK vs LASIK : Which Eye Surgery Is Better for Low Power?

I was told that my eye power is not very high, and another doctor suggested that I could go for LASIK surgery. I want to know whether PRK or LASIK would be more suitable for my condition. I would also like to know which clinic location is available for a full eye check-up, the consultation charges, whether the doctor is available on weekends, any travel precautions after the check-up, and whether my vision may be blurry immediately after the tests.

PRK and LASIK may be good options for you due to your low eye power. However, the final decision can only be made after a complete eye examination and detailed corneal scanning.

It is important to share your previous eye reports so the doctor can properly assess your case. Dr. Sushma is a senior consulting surgeon associated with reputed hospitals. She is not available on Sundays, although the clinic remains open. The consultation charges are ₹1000 at Dr. Sushma’s center for a complete checkup (including consultation and all scans) and ₹600 at Vasanth Icare for the initial checkup, which includes all necessary scans and evaluations to determine whether PRK or LASIK is suitable for you.

After dilation and scanning, your vision may remain slightly blurry for some time, so it is advisable not to drive yourself and instead use public transport, a cab, or an auto-rickshaw.

You can plan to visit on Saturday, as Sundays are usually more crowded and Dr. Sushma will not be available. Once your evaluation is completed, the doctor will explain the most suitable procedure, pricing details, and the next steps, and surgeries can also be scheduled on Sundays if needed.
