My sebaceous cyst has become infected again It has been drained before and now the same lump is red and painful again. Antibiotics helped last time but the lump stayed. Does repeated infection mean it should be completely removed?

Yes, if it keeps getting infected, it’s usually time to have it fully removed (not just drained). Draining only empties the pus, but the little sac under the skin stays behind, so it keeps filling up and getting infected again. Best plan: get this infection treated now (may need antibiotics or draining again), then once it calms down, ask a doctor to fully cut out the sac so it doesn’t come back.
