Trying Late for Pregnancy : Am I Infertile or Just Need Guidance?

I'm turning 31 next year, at the end of this year actually, and I haven't conceived yet. I started late too. Is it because I'm infertile? And if I am infertile, is IVF the only solution?

IVF is the last resort, not the first step many centers push it due to marketing, but let’s understand the facts. Even if both husband and wife are completely normal, natural conception chances per cycle are only 7-14%. It can take up to a year, and that’s free of cost.

IUI (injecting washed semen) raises it to 15-20%, but may still take months and costs 20-30 thousand. IVF, with injections, egg retrieval, lab embryo creation, and transfer, gives about 40% success you might need 3 tries, costing 1.5-2 lakhs each time. These are financially and emotionally draining.

At 31, you’re at a normal age please don’t panic. First, get proper basic tests , saline sonography for tubes, AMH/AFC for your eggs, husband’s semen analysis. 90% of issues can be fixed with laparoscopy like unblocking tubes with thin wires, removing fibroids or endometriosis. Only the remaining 10% truly need IVF. Get assessed first; natural or simple fixes work for most.
