Ovarian cyst rupture risks, symptoms, and when to seek urgent medical care?

I’ve been experiencing sudden pelvic pain and bloating, and doctors found a cyst on my ovary. I read online that cysts can sometimes burst. How dangerous is it if an ovarian cyst ruptures, and what immediate symptoms should I watch out for?

A ruptured cyst can cause sudden, sharp one-sided pain and some bleeding into the pelvis. Often the pain is intense for a short time and then settles with rest and simple pain relief. It becomes dangerous if there is heavy internal bleeding or signs of infection or shock. You should seek urgent care if you feel very faint or dizzy, are soaking through pads quickly, have a high fever, have trouble breathing, or your pain keeps worsening. In those situations doctors will usually do an ultrasound and blood tests to decide whether observation is enough or emergency treatment is needed.
