One miscarriage is not necessarily significant there can be many reasons behind it. It could be due to a deficiency in progesterone or other hormonal issues like thyroid problems. It’s also important to check for conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, especially if the patient is in a high-risk category.

So first, we check for any medical problems and do a full hormonal assessment. If hormone levels are normal, we can provide medical support such as progesterone and other hormonal supplements to improve chances and reduce the risk of miscarriage.

If everything is normal but the patient continues to miscarry, age becomes an important factor. In such cases, we recommend PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy). This test checks the embryos for genetic abnormalities. During IVF, once embryos reach the blastocyst stage (an advanced stage of embryo development), a few cells are taken from the embryo and sent for genetic testing.

Within about 15 days, we get a report showing which embryos are genetically normal and which are not. Based on this report, the genetically normal embryos are transferred back into the uterus to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy and the birth of a healthy baby.
