Burning Sensation in the Vaginal Area – What Could It Be?
I've had an on-and-off burning feeling in my vaginal area for 3 days. It's not constant. No unusual discharge, no fever. I'm not sure whether to wait and see or go to a doctor now.

A burning sensation that comes and goes without discharge or fever can have several causes, most of them straightforward to treat.
Contact irritation: Most common. Scented soaps, shower gels, wipes, lubricants, or laundry detergent can irritate sensitive vulvar tissue. Stop any new products you’ve used recently and switch to unscented, gentle options. Many cases of unexplained burning clear up within days of this change alone.
Yeast infection: Can present as burning without obvious discharge, especially after antibiotics or before periods.
BV (bacterial vaginosis): Usually presents with odor, but burning without discharge is possible.
Urinary tract irritation: A mild or early UTI can cause burning around the vaginal area before urinary symptoms develop.
