There is a soft lump under the skin that has slowly grown over the last few months. It doesn't hurt, but seeing it get bigger is making me worried. Could it be a lipoma?

A soft, painless lump under the skin that has gradually increased in size could be a Lipoma. Lipomas are usually non cancerous growths made up of fatty tissue and often feel soft, movable, and painless when touched.

However, not every lump is a lipoma. Since you have noticed that it is getting larger, it is important to have it examined by a doctor. A physical examination and, if needed, an ultrasound or other imaging test can help confirm the diagnosis and determine whether any treatment is required.

A soft painless lump under skin is usually a lipoma.. If it moves a little on pressing and soft lipoma.. Only way to confirm is soft tissue scan of the area.. Any swelling which is growing in size needs to be evaluated or removed and sent for histopathology..

Most probably a benign non cancerous lesion such as a lipoma fits the description. This can be removed through a simple surgery.
