Tympanoplasty Risks: How Common Are Complications?

I often feel embarrassed because of my ear discharge and hearing loss. The doctor said tympanoplasty can fix this, but I am worried about complications like dizziness or facial weakness after surgery. How common are these side effects?

Complications like dizziness or facial weakness are very rare with tympanoplasty, especially when done by experienced ENT surgeons. Some patients may feel mild imbalance in the first few days after surgery, but this usually settles quickly. The chances of serious side effects are extremely low compared to the benefits of stopping discharge and improving hearing.
