Is a nabothian cyst found during routine exam safe to leave untreated?

A nabothian cyst was found during a routine cervical examination and I had never heard of it before. I don't have any major symptoms. Is this usually something that can simply be left alone?

Nabothian cysts are very common, benign (non-cancerous) cysts that form on the cervix and are often discovered incidentally during routine pelvic exams. In most cases, they require no treatment and can simply be monitored over time, especially when there are no significant symptoms. However, it is always a good idea to follow up with your gynecologist periodically to ensure there are no changes in size or appearance.
