Is a painful lump that grows before periods accessory breast tissue?

I thought it was just fat, but it becomes bigger and sometimes painful before my periods. Could this be accessory breast tissue rather than a normal lump?

A lump that enlarges and becomes painful before periods could indeed be accessory (ectopic) breast tissue, which responds to hormonal changes just like normal breast tissue.

This is a relatively common condition and can occur in areas like the armpit or along the milk line. It is advisable to consult a doctor for a proper clinical examination and imaging to confirm the diagnosis and discuss appropriate management options.

Yes it is accessory axillary breast tissue which is responding to hormonal changes but you should consult your nearby surgeon for the proper evaluation and management.

Yes axillary tail of breast can cause increase in size and pain during period and pregnancy. you can opt for surgical removal if too painful or for cosmetic reasons
