Can cancer spread through saliva, kissing, or sharing food?

My husband has cancer and one relative told me not to share glass or food with him because cancer can come through saliva. Is this actually true? Can I get cancer by kissing or sharing food with a cancer patient?

Cancer is not contagious and cannot spread from one person to another through saliva, kissing, sharing food, or casual contact.

It is completely safe to share meals, hug, or kiss your husband. You can continue to support and care for him without any fear of ‘catching’ cancer,  please consult his oncologist if you have further concerns.
