What do the different stages of cancer mean?
I hear people saying stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 and stage 4 cancer but I never understood what these stages actually mean. How many stages are there and how serious is each stage?

Cancer staging describes how far the cancer has spread in the body. Stage 1 means the cancer is small and localized to one area, Stage 2 indicates it has grown but not spread significantly, Stage 3 means it has spread to nearby lymph nodes or tissues, and Stage 4 (advanced) means it has spread to distant organs.
Each higher stage generally indicates a more serious condition and may require more intensive treatment, so consulting an oncologist is essential for understanding your specific situation.
