This is a common myth. The chances of having an abnormal baby, miscarriage, or birth-related issues after IVF are not higher than natural conception. The percentage of problems during pregnancy remains roughly the same as it would if the couple conceived naturally.

Many patients worry that if something goes wrong, it’s because of the IVF cycle but that’s not true. These problems can happen to any couple trying naturally. Miscarriages and complications are often related to factors like age, especially the female partner’s age, because changes in the eggs happen naturally over time, and nothing can alter that.

So, IVF itself does not increase the risk of an unhealthy baby. With proper monitoring and care, most IVF pregnancies result in normal, healthy babies.
