Dry Eyes & High Power: Are SMILE or ICL Better Than LASIK?
I have a -6.5 power in both eyes and dry eyes sometimes. The doctor said I might not be an ideal candidate for lasik treatment. Are there other safe options like SMILE or ICL that give the same results?

People with higher powers or dry eyes are sometimes not ideal candidates for LASIK because it removes corneal tissue and may worsen dryness. Alternatives like SMILE (a flapless laser procedure) and ICL (implantable contact lenses) are excellent options with comparable results. SMILE is gentler on the cornea and has fewer dryness issues, while ICL involves placing a lens inside the eye without changing the cornea. A detailed evaluation of corneal thickness, dryness severity, and eye health helps decide the safest option for you.
