Cataract lens choices: What do usually prefer?

My doctor said monofocal lenses are safer but simpler than multifocal lenses. I feel torn — should I prioritize safety or try to reduce dependency on glasses completely? What do most patients prefer in real life?

Most older adults prioritize safety and predictable vision over complete independence from glasses. Monofocal lenses offer excellent distance vision with minimal risk of glare or halos. Multifocal lenses may reduce dependence on glasses but carry a higher chance of visual disturbances. Many patients feel reassured and satisfied with the clear, dependable vision monofocal lenses provide for daily life.
