Is monofocal lens cataract surgery a safe and practical option?

I’ve read about multifocal and toric lenses. My surgeon recommended monofocal lens for safety reasons. Will I regret this choice later, or is it usually sufficient for most daily tasks? I don’t want complications at this stage of life.

Monofocal lenses prioritize safety and provide stable, clear vision for most daily activities. While you may still need reading glasses, these lenses carry minimal risk of glare or halos compared to multifocal options. Many patients feel satisfied with distance vision, independence, and low complication rates. Choosing safety is often the most reassuring choice for older adults, and it allows you to enjoy daily life comfortably without worrying about unforeseen issues.
