Will I still need glasses after cataract surgery?

I heard that people sometimes need glasses even after cataract surgery. How accurate is the lens prescription after surgery, and is it possible to completely get rid of reading or distance glasses depending on the type of intraocular lens used?

Lens power calculation is very precise today, but sometimes small adjustments are still needed after surgery. Standard lenses usually give excellent distance vision, with reading glasses required for near tasks. Premium lenses like multifocal or trifocal implants can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses altogether, but they may have trade-offs like glare. Your doctor will help match the lens type to your lifestyle and expectations for the best balance.
