Will cataract surgery help with computer work and night driving?Cataract

I’m 55 and recently diagnosed with cataract in one eye. I work in an office with computers all day and drive at night. Will cataract surgery improve both near and distance vision? Are there different types of lenses that can reduce dependency on glasses afterward?

Yes, cataract surgery can restore both near and distance vision, depending on the lens you choose. Standard monofocal lenses give excellent clarity, usually for distance, but reading glasses are still needed. Multifocal or trifocal lenses allow focus at multiple distances and can reduce dependency on glasses, though they may cause more halos at night. Your lifestyle and priorities help the doctor recommend the best lens for you. Many people enjoy much more freedom after surgery.
