Brown Discharge at 5 Weeks Pregnant : Normal or Concerning?
I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I've been noticing some brown discharge for 2 days. There's no pain. I'm scared but I don't know if this is dangerous or something normal in early pregnancy. Please explain.

Brown discharge in early pregnancy is more common than most people realize, and in many cases it’s not a sign that anything is wrong.
Brown-colored discharge is old blood. When blood takes longer to travel through the vagina, it oxidizes and turns brown rather than red. Common harmless causes at 5 weeks:
Implantation bleeding: Can appear around weeks 4-5 as the embryo settles into the uterine lining. Usually light, brown or pink, lasting 1-2 days.
Cervical sensitivity: Early pregnancy increases blood flow to the cervix, making light bleeding after sex or a pelvic exam more common.
Subchorionic hemorrhage: A small bleed near the placenta that often resolves on its own.
