How Much Nausea and Vomiting During Pregnancy Is Normal?
I'm 8 weeks pregnant, and the nausea is constant. I can barely eat without feeling sick. Some days I vomit multiple times. How do I know if this is normal pregnancy sickness or something that needs treatment?

Nausea and vomiting affect up to 80% of pregnant women in the first trimester. At 8 weeks, you’re in the peak window it’s usually worst between weeks 6-10 and improves by weeks 12-16.
What’s considered normal: Nausea with occasional vomiting, food aversions, relief at certain times of day. Temporary weight loss is common.
When it’s a medical concern (hyperemesis gravidarum): If you’re vomiting so frequently you can’t keep food or fluids down, or losing more than 5% of your pre-pregnancy weight, you need treatment. Signs include dark urine, extreme dizziness, and vomiting more than 3-4 times daily with no improvement.
